From a technical perspective, polyester filament typically exhibits a breaking strength of 4.5-9.0 cN/dtex, an elongation of 15%-30%, high modulus, and good resilience. These properties make it widely used in textiles, industry, and construction. For example, in the apparel industry, it is used to make sportswear and outdoor clothing; in the industrial sector, it is used to manufacture conveyor belts and filter materials; and in the construction industry, it is used for geotextiles and reinforcing materials.
Polyester filaments are classified into fully drawn yarn (FDY), pre-oriented yarn (POY), and drawn textured yarn (DTY), each type possessing different performance characteristics depending on subsequent processing requirements. In its production process, temperature control (typically a melting temperature of 260-290℃) and draw ratio (3-5 times) are key parameters that directly affect the final properties of the fiber.
