Q1. What is the difference between POY, FDY and DTY?
A: They are three stages of the same melt-spinning chain. POY is only partially oriented and needs further drawing, so it is sold to texturing plants. FDY is drawn to final orientation - flat, stable, low shrinkage. DTY is POY that has been drawn and false-twist texturized, so it has crimp and bulk. Fabrics that need body and loft use DTY; fabrics that need a flat, even surface use FDY.
Q2. Why do some buyers ask for 100 polyester yarn?
A: In customer usage, "100 polyester yarn" generally refers to a 100% polyester content declaration. The exact wording should follow the destination market's labeling and customs requirements. Batch traceability and supporting documents can be provided where required.
Q3. Can I weave DTY without sizing?
A: Yes, if you order networked (NIM) DTY. The intermingling nodes hold filaments together through weaving, which saves the desizing step. For very fine deniers or high-density warps we still recommend light sizing or a higher node count.
Q4. How is lot-to-lot shade consistency controlled?
A: Each spinning lot is sampled for UV-vis transmission and luster value before release; dyeing lots are matched against a retained master hank under D65. We can hold your approved shade standard in our archive and match every shipment against it.
