In the textile and apparel industry, polyester staple fiber can be spun purely or blended with cotton and linen to produce fabrics that mimic wool and silk. In the home textiles and furnishings industry, polyester staple fiber is used to make bedding, curtains, and furniture interiors. In the industrial textiles industry, polyester staple fiber is used to manufacture automotive interior seat fabrics, carpets, geotextiles, building insulation materials, and air filtration materials. It is also used to manufacture tire cords and flame-retardant nonwoven fabrics. In the medical and health field, polyester staple fiber can be used to manufacture surgical gowns, masks, bandages, and other products. Furthermore, flame-retardant polyester staple fiber is used for special applications such as flight suits, tents, parachutes, ropes, and conveyor belts.
Low-melting-point polyester staple fiber is gradually replacing traditional chemical adhesives used in the home textile and automotive interior industries, with related products applied in furniture, automotive interiors, medical and health products, and apparel and home textiles. Recycled polyester staple fiber is mainly used in engineering, carpets, and automotive interiors.
